Preparing the Car
The first thing you need to do is disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent any electrical shorts. Once the battery is disconnected, you need to remove the old dome light. In a 01 Galant, there are three bolts holding the light in place. Two of the bolts are located near the front of the light housing, and one is located in the back. Remove all three bolts and pull the light housing out of the car.
